naima mora Naima Mora is a multi-talented performing artist; Musician Vocalist, Author, Model and Public Speaker. She is currently writing and recording her first solo album; engaged in inspirational public speaking at colleges and universities across the United States; touring her first published work “Model Behavior”; and continues modeling for some of fashion’s most talented designers.

Naima Mora is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She moved to NYC at age 18 where she joined the Dance Theatre of Harlem and performed contemporary ballet until leaving in 2004 to pursue a high fashion Modeling Career. She was scouted for and subsequently won Season 4 of the hit television series America’s Next Top Model. Mora has been the only contestant to win “Fan Favorite” every episode the show aired until she won the grand title. Mora has been the face for Cover Girl Cosmetics, Sheer Cover Mineral MakeUp, Split Clothing and Samsung. She’s made T.V. cameos on the Tyra Banks Show, Veronica Mars, judging Miss Teen USA, runway for Bravo’s Project Runway and was the heartthrob in TV On The Radio’s “Wolf Like Me” music video. She has graced the cover of reputable fashion magazines such as Vicious, Cover, B.L.A.C., Modern Salon, H Mag, Mami, U+U, Uzuri, WINK, LOOK Guatemala, ELEGANT and the two part special hard cover release of Luxe Knits. Naima has also shot spreads for Teen People, Ambassador, Corduroy, Metro Pop, Fuego, Latina, Inked, US Weekly, Intouch, Radaar, Jewel, ELUXE, Oppa, Shambhala Sun, OPPA! and StyleLine. She is also featured in Nigel Barker’s book “The Beauty Equation”.

Mora has received recognizable awards for exceptional achievement, outstanding leadership, and dedication to improving the quality of life including the Spirit of Detroit Award, California Legislature Assembly Certificate of Recognition, and the prestigious Key of the City to Cincinnati, Ohio. She often serves as a guest speaker and host for schools and universities. Some of these have been the Ramapo College Enerve Fashion Show, International Academy of Design and Technology Imagine Student Fashion Show, IADT State Fair Student Presentation, Detroit Public Schools / Detroit Public Library HYPE (Helping Young People Excel) launch, Sacramento City Unified School District African American Student Leadership Conference 2010, the University of South Carolina’s 2010 Fashion For a Cause, Northwood University’s Style Fashion Show 2014, CFAC Student Encouragement Luncheon 2014, Syracuse Univeristy’s AKA Presents and evening with Naima Mora 2014, Sacramento City Unified School District Girl Inspired Conference 2014 and Barizon School. Her public speaking reached an international platform with a TEDx TALK presentation in Sacramento in 2013.

In 2014 she also published and released her first literary work “Model Behavior”, an inspirational book for young people based on Mora’s experiences in life and in the fashion industry. She is currently doing the MODEL BEHAVIOR Book Tour and the title is now available on Amazon and Amazon Europe.

Naima is now working as a solo artist, having released her first single “Hour Glass” in March 2015 by way of Stadium Music Enterprise. The single was produced by Grammy Winner Josh Stevens nd features accomplished musicians including Jason Valverde on guitars (Snoop Dog, Wiz Kalifa, Taio Cruz), Matt McJunkins on bass (Perfect Circle, Puscifer), and Drew Hester on drums (Foo Fighters, Jewel). “Hour Glass” was mixed by Eric Racy (Katy Perry, Tyga, Pharell) and mastered by Grammy Award Winner Chris Gehringer. “HourGlass” is now on Itunes, YouTube, Spotify and all major online distributors.
