Rey Ortiz is a Men’s & Women’s Wear designer who has a special interest in dressing up drag queens and other fabulous performers. Born in Puerto Rico, Rey was a very creative child who would tackle any challenge. He completed his masters degree in animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design, but his love of the digital arts did not diminish his passion for crafts and more traditional arts. After returning to the Caribbean island , Rey took several technical courses on pattern making and tailoring which he considers to be his best investment to date. From there, he moved to Dallas were he continued sewing, creating his fan base on social media, and other community association activities. While in Dallas, Rey became part of Project Runway: Under The Gunn which he credits for opening his eyes to possibilities out there for his artistic talents and the potential for personal and professional growth. Currently based in Los Angeles, Ortiz continues his quest of fusing his extensive CGI and Digital talents with his skills of traditional clothing design, in order to further his long term goal of becoming becoming an anti-cookie-cutter worldwide fashion brand.
