Ezra Estes of Seams Unusual. This boutique set up in the early 90’s with his wife Laurie Estes. It was opened specifically for custom tailoring after Ezra left the corporate world to develop his own vision. After years of taking on any kind of sewing and tailoring work, they finally were able to devote some of their tireless time and energy toward the development of Ezra’s own fashion brands and custom creations. Since 2006 Ezra has been able to focus on his unique Fashion creations and custom tailoring.
In addition, he is the Program Director for the Fashion Design, at the School of Arts and Design at Santa Fe Community College. His work there has taken students to a new level of excellence. Fashion shows and detail oriented classes have resulted in several students moving onto Parsons New School, Rhode Island School of Design, Savannah College of Arts and Design, and Art Institute of San Francisco. To say the program is growing and developing in wonderful new ways is an understatement. In addition to his work as a Fashion Educator, Ezra is designing for Santa Fe Dry Goods on the Plaza in fashionable Santa Fe, NM. His work is among the closets of high end clientele of Santa Fe, although he is planning a second, more accessible line. The d’Este line is a collection of Ezra’s individual designs he creates by hand. One-of-a-Kind creations may be the norm at d’Este but it is rapidly moving toward mainstream Fashion. Look for the d’Este label at a fine retailer soon!
