Melrene Saloy is from the Blood Tribe of Southern Alberta, Canada and resides in Calgary, Alberta.
Melrene is a grassroots artisan whose influences stem from the beading traditions of her family to urban street style. Native Diva Creations makes, handcrafted urban Native and street-styled inspired jewelry. Each piece is created with a modern flair bringing together the traditions of powwow beadwork and urban street. This blend of traditional and modern sets her jewelry apart.
Melrene has gained prior business experience working as a manager in retail for over a decade. This strong business knowledge has assisted Melrene with the necessary foundations for starting her own small business. Melrene has also gained knowledge attending entrepreneurial camp and the Youth Entrepreneurial Summit (YES) 2014 and 2015.
Melrene primarily is a beading artist and jewelry maker, but also includes design, graphic design and mixed media. Combining her loves of crafting, bead work, fashion and business Melrene developed Native Diva Creations . Melrene operates her business out of her home and sets up shop at many trade shows and events.
